Who is John Blackham?
Hello, my name is John Blackham, and I am honored to be a candidate for the Anston and Woodsetts Ward in the upcoming local elections for Rotherham Council on May 2nd, 2024.
Having spent my entire life in Rotherham, with over forty years residing in Anston, I have deep roots in this community. My professional background as a retired accountant, coupled with extensive managerial experience in both private and public sectors, has instilled in me a passion for problem-solving and innovation.
Beyond my career, I have been actively involved in community initiatives, serving as a founding trustee of a Rotherham-based charity and as the former chairman of a local scout group in Anston. These experiences have given me valuable insight into the needs and concerns of our community members.
As a father of three, I understand the importance of education, especially for those with special educational needs. My children have been educated in this area, giving me firsthand knowledge of the challenges faced by families in navigating the educational system.
If elected, I am committed to representing the people of Anston and Woodsetts with integrity and dedication. I believe in delivering quality services that are both efficient and cost-effective, ensuring that every taxpayer receives value for their money.
