Councillor Collingham joined Thurcroft Junior Academy's school council for a special tour around Rotherham Town Hall this week. The children explored the council chambers, committee rooms and the mayors parlour. As they walked around the town hall, the children were educated on the items of history contained throughout the building.
The children were blown away when they got to meet the Rotherham Mayor who explained his role as first citizen of the borough and the long standing traditions since the forming of Rotherham borough.
Tom said: "It was great to see their excited and shocked faces when the Mayor walked into the Chamber. It was a thrilling day, and it warms my heart to know that the children left feeling inspired by the day".
