Who is David Fisher?
Meet David Fisher, your dedicated candidate for Sitwell Ward in the upcoming local elections for Rotherham Council on May 2nd, 2024. With a close connection to the community, David is committed to addressing the needs of the ward and representing its residents.
A local scholar, David’s educational journey began at Wath Comprehensive School and Rotherham College before embarking on a remarkable military career with the Territorial Army and later the RAF. His service as an Aircraft Electrician instilled in him the values of discipline and service to the nation.
Post-military service, David ventured into entrepreneurship, establishing several independent businesses. Today, he lends his expertise to Electrical Compliance as a commercial subcontractor, while also remaining active in professional organisations such as the Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET) and the Chartered Institute of Building Service Engineers (CIBSE).
A resident of Sitwell Ward since 1996, David has seen the community evolve alongside his family, including his two daughters who attended local schools. Together, they cherish leisurely walks in the area and exploring the scenic landscapes of the Peak District.
With 25 years of residence in Sitwell Ward, David possesses a nuanced understanding of local issues. If elected, he pledges to continue as a dedicated advocate for the community, focusing on concerns such as traffic management, responsible planning and development, and the provision of family-friendly facilities.
