We submitted a bid for the Towns and Villages fund some months ago and are proud to announce that our scheme has been included in the Category 2 of the planned phase for funding.
What does this mean?
When we submitted a bid, we proposed changes to Thurcroft High Street, with new street furniture, planters, and a general titivation to give the High Street a new lease of life. We are ambitious in our plans and have asked for support from Thurcroft Parish Council and Thurcroft Big Local to support us in expanding this plan throughout the village. This would be through new benches and better community areas.
Our plans are complex due to the High Street being privately owned and will take time to contact each landowner and complete the scope of works to ensure that this project is viable. It will take time and we hope to begin further consultations and designs soon.
When do we expect to hear?
We would expect to hear about developments of the project from April onwards. It is a slow process, but we want to get the right investment into Thurcroft so that we can be proud of our main shopping areas.
