A petition was created by local residents and councillors in February this year, calling for major improvements to the road safety on Kingsforth Lane. It was signed by over 600 residents who agreed with the premise that more needed to be done to protect road users, and to improve the safety measures on the road.
The petition was presented today by Cllr Ball and Cllr Collingham for debate amongst the Members. We are pleased that this was PASSED in today’s committee meeting, calling for action from Rotherham Council.
A package of proposed measures has been circulated to improve the safety, with majority of this work to begin in June. This has been a long process and we are proud that the residents petition has added weight to this.
A further speed reduction of the carriageway will take a little long due to the statutory process that this needs to take, but we are hopefully that with a successful consultation we can see this implemented soon.
