Councillors Tom and Zach have been pleased to support a bid for new CCTV in Thurcroft by the South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner. The new CCTV would help tackle crime and anti-social behaviour and would include a deployable CCTV vehicle that can help respond to issues as they arise.
Tom said ‘CCTV is a vital tool to help deter and prosecute crime and we are hopeful we can secure the funding to install more in the Ward. We are continually working with the local policing team and officers from the Council’s Children and Young People services to tackle anti-social behaviour.
Zach added ‘the Thurcroft bid is based on evidence that it’s needed. It’s really important residents always report any crime or anti-social behaviour to South Yorkshire Police so we have the evidence to back up requests for funding.
If you experience crime or ASB, please report this to South Yorkshire Police in the first instance.
