On Thursday 10th February Cllr Simon Burnett was joined by PCSO Abby from Rotherham Central NPT , Sophie from RMBC Neighbourhood Team and fellow ward councillor to monitor traffic speeds on Worrygoose Lane.
Over 60 vehicles were checked both ways, with over 
vehicles over the 
30mph speed limit.
The highest speed was 
mph. 
Abby will be referring the speeding vehicles to the Road Safety Partnership with the necessary action being taken to the speeding drivers 
Cllr Simon Burnett has been present on several occasions at Whiston Worrygoose Primary to listen to parents concerns with traffic and parking issues outside the school.
Worrygoose Lane has NO Safe crossing for pedestrians and children walking to school. Cllr Simon Burnett is as concerned about this as the many residents who have raised their worries about Worrygoose Lane to him.
Despite asking RMBC on several occasions and highlighting his concerns , as of yet, the Labour Run council would prefer to wait for the outcome of new housing so that developers can help foot the bill!
