Cllr Simon Burnett was asked by Whiston Worrygoose Primary if Road Safety posters designed by pupils could be placed in a more prominent position
The relevant officers within RMBC were contacted and in matter of days authority was given to the school to move the signs from the school on to RMBC railings
More visual to drivers about the need to slow down and drive responsibly, especially near Schools
Our local PCSO has also increased her patrols during mornings and afternoons to remind parents and drivers of the need to drive and park responsibly.
It may seem a small change, but for the school this was something they had tried to get permission to do for months and meant awareness could be moved adjacent to the main road
Cllr Burnett said for him it made sense for the council to allow the signs to be moved on to RMBC owned property as it not only raises awareness but ensures the school feels supported
