After a heartbreaking Sunday night the Councillors were up bright and early Monday morning to observe road safety outside Ravenfield Primary School.
When the morning run was over, they met with Headmistress Mrs Coates to discuss the challenges of speeding and parking outside the school.
Some key points were made and taken over to our next meeting with Traffic Liaison Officer Marc Hill as we discussed the complications that parents and students face regarding road safety.
He agreed that the signage was confusing and would look at getting the unnecessary ones removed. In addition to this we spoke about removing the 40mph road markings and replacing them with Red Tar that reads “Slow” in white paint.
We are also asking the PSCO’s to conduct an operation Slow Down to make sure vehicles are sticking to the legal limit.
