Having stated in Council session that there would be no cost to extracate itself from the RBT contract, the Rotherham Labour Council now says that they have come to a fair agreement with BT for cancelling the contract early. What this agreement is they won't say because of 'contractual sensitivity'. We hear this excuse far too often. What they mean is they don't want to tell us because it is embarrassing and reflects poorly on their decision to enter into the contract in the first place.
What we are concerned over more than anything else is the accountability of those Councillors who think it appropriate to deny the tax payer reasonable explanation of their action. This is not democracy. This is fear of being caught out. Your local Conservatives will continue to examine this presently unaccountable Council.
