This week Cllr Lewis Mills and Gregory Reynolds had the privilege to meet students from Ravenfield and Bramley Grange Primary School to help Santa deliver presents. Lewis and Greg set aside £2,000 of their Community Leadership Funding (CLF) to fund educational books and games for the children.
Lewis said “There’s just no words to describe the feeling and joy it brings me to see the smiles on children’s faces and knowing that they’ll all have something to open on Christmas Day!”
At Ravenfiled Primary School the Cllrs were joined by Principal Caroline Coates, Ava and Luca who did an excellent job distributing presents to classmates.
Ms Coates said “This year the money has meant that we have been able to give the children real quality reading books from Father Christmas. Each child got their own book to keep. We love reading at #wereRavenfield and make sure that all our children 'LEARN TO READ/READ TO LEARN/READ FOR FUN. We are a reading school and are grateful for the money that ensured all our children were able to have the gift of festive reading! Thank you!”
Lewis and Greg then went to Bramley Grange Primary School and was met by Cllr Harry, Cllr Lilly and Cllr Tristan who help make-up the Student Council.
The Student Council did an excellent job speaking to classmates and helping distribute the educational games. After speaking with Harry, Lilly and Tristan we could tell they’re future leaders in the making and would make excellent Borough Councillors.
All the students were very polite, well spoken and just a credit to both schools.
We hope that Santa brings them everything they’ve wished for and they have a very Merry Christmas!
