JULIA "JULZ" HALL FOR DINNINGTON
As you will have heard, there is a Rotherham Council by-election in Dinnington Ward on 13th July. I am delighted to share the news that Julia “Julz” Hall, owner of Julz Boutique on Dinnington High Street and local Laughton resident, has been selected as the Conservative candidate.
With the news that the previous councillor is having to take a step back from his duties due to personal family reasons, we are pleased to have been able to find a hardworking, local replacement in Julz, who is already working hard for the whole of Dinnington ward. I am so pleased to be able to personally endorse her as I know she is exactly who Dinnington, and Rother Valley, needs in the Town Hall.
Julz has been a key player in all discussions around the regeneration of Dinnington market place and high street. Running her own business here in the town means she understands the challenges more than most.
This is now a crucial time for Dinnington. Having secured the £12 million from the Government to rejuvenate our high street, your Conservative team and I,need to make sure we have the strongest possible person to deliver the project. Ultimately, we need to keep the Labour-run Rotherham Council honest, spending the £12 million on what residents – you – want, rather than an indoor hockey pitch or on other ideas which have been thrown around by the Labour council.
Labour have neglected Dinnington for 50 years, taking voters for granted and allowing the town to fall into decline, whilst hundreds of millions of pounds have been spent on Rotherham Town Centre. We need a strong, local candidate who is prepared to hold them to account and to fight for Dinnington, Laughton Common, Laughton-en-le-Morthen, Firbeck, Letwell, Gildingwells, Brookhouse, Slade Hooton and Carr.
I have every confidence that Julz will do just that. She passionately believes in the community where she lives and works and has done for many years. She wants to see the £12 million capital investment secured for Dinnington spent in Dinnington on a project that residents believe in, and she will fight for better road safety in our towns and villages throughout the ward.
Last election the Conservatives won Dinnington by 42 votes, so it is going to be incredibly close. But I need Julz to be on my team to help hold Labour-led Rotherham Council to account and deliver on this ambitious plan for the whole of Dinnington.
Julz is already working alongside me as your MP and local Councillors Sophie Castledine-Dack and Benjamin Whomersley, and has been for some time. She is not just here at election time, she works hard for her community 365 days per year and is already devoted to making all of Dinnington a better place to live, work and play. If elected, she will have the chance to implement some real changes.
If you care about Dinnington – if you want to make sure our high street gets all the money given to it by the government, if you care about road safety on our streets and our villages, I hope you will join me on 13th July in backing Julia Hall – the only candidate who can beat Labour and secure Dinnington’s future.
